Kuala Tembeling 2022

Assalamualaikum and greetings to everyone. Just a few days before I wrote this post, I went to once a famous place in Jerantut,Pahang call Kuala Tembeling. It just a very small town beside the Pahang riverbank. I went there to meet the head chief of the place for land related issues. It has everything like mosque, shops, schools, residential area, police station and more. It’s about 15min drive from Jerantut town and it was famous around local and overseas travelers because it was one of the gateway to Malaysia’s National Park via boat.

*A nostalgic place

When I was small, I used to cross this river to go to Jerantut from my village as an alternative way beside using the road. It’s also a place for villagers to get supplies as many major shops are located here.

*After the pandemic

As my latest visit, it seems this place is almost deserted. Yes,the boats are still there but the service are only upon request. Although it still quite lively during the weekends, public holidays or school breaks local authority advise people that want to go to the National Park to use the road and with a travel agent rather that using the river. I heard from the local that you can rent a long boat for RM 100 to go sightseeing along this river so I recommend to bring your family or friends to enjoy this trip. Here’s a couple of photos that I shot from my quick recent trip in that place.
